Chief Justice orders inspection of court houses after 6.1 quake

MANILA, Philippines – Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin has ordered Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez to conduct an inspection of all court houses in areas affected by Monday afternoon’s magnitude 6.1 earthquake.

The earthquake rocked Zambales, other parts of Central Luzon and Metro Manila.

Bersamin ordered the inspection of all courts “to ensure the structural integrity of court houses as well as the safety of all judges, court personnel, lawyers and the public.”

Marquez is the head of the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA).

OCA supervises over 2,000 judges and 25,000 court personnel. /gsg
