BJMP records zero untoward incidents in jails during Holy Week break
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) recorded a zero rate of untoward incidents during the observance of Holy Week, its director announced on Sunday.
Jail Chief Superintendent Allan Iral made the announcement as he sent his Easter greetings to personnel.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat sa inyong kooperasyon at pakikiisa upang siguruhing walang anumang insidente ngayong Mahal na Araw. Maraming salamat sa inyong sakripisyo at sa ipinakita niyong dedikasyon sa trabaho,” Iral said in a statement.
“Kahit sinong lider, talaga namang magiging proud sa mga kasamahan niya lalo at nakita ko din kung paano kayo nagsakripisyo masiguro lang na maaasikaso niyo lahat ng pangangailangan sa jail,” he added.
Iral earlier declared a full alert status in the BJMP during the Holy Week.
He then commended all the teams led by key officials from the National Headquarters including the Regional Directors who skipped the holiday to inspect jails and monitor the jail situations.
Article continues after this advertisementHe also expressed his gratitude for the efforts extended by the Regional Directors in leading their respective regions for a zero incident Holy Week this year.
Article continues after this advertisement“All of us were tasked by DILG Secretary Eduardo Año to be vigilant this holiday to prevent any untoward incidents and I’m grateful that all of you did a great job in guarding our gates,” he said.
“Maraming salamat at pati kayo ay nagbantay ng mabuti kaya nasiguro nating maayos at ligtas ang ating mga pasilidad ngayong Holy Week,” he added, in reference to the Regional Directors.
The BJMP is manning 476 district, city and municipal jails across the country. /je
