Man shot dead in Carmen

A MAN was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in barangay Poblacion, Carmen town, northern Cebu.

Police said Peter Paul Tambasakan was towing a mountain bike when he was shot in the body in a poorly lit road past 2 a.m. yesterday.

The crime happened about 300 meters from the Carmen police precinct.

The man was already dead when policemen arrived.

Police said that about 14 hours after Tambasakan was killed, a man went to the Carmen police station to claim the mountain bike.

Oscar Capuno said the mountain bike was parked outside his house when it was stolen.

PO2 Jezrhel Into of the Carmen police said Tambasakan faced several theft complaints.

The complainants, however, did not file charges against Tambasakan, said Into.
