Top two seeds B-Meg, Talk ‘N Text eye semifinal seats against lower-seeded foes today

Araneta Coliseum
5:15 p.m.- Talk ‘N Text vs. Barako Bull
7:30 p.m.- B-Meg vs. Powerade

The top two seeds, both enjoying twice-to-beat edges, look for a swift passage to the semifinal round when they take on their lower-ranked foes at the start of the quarterfinal round of the 37th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters tackle the Barako Bull Energy in the first game while the B-Meg Llamados play the Powerade Tigers in the main game.

B-Meg and Talk ‘N Text both finished the eliminations with 10 wins and four losses but the former got the number one seeding over its superior quotient against the latter.

FEATURED STORIES

Powerade and Barako Bull, the two lowest seeds, tallied six wins and eight defeats in the eliminations. The Tigers wound up the number eight team while the Energy are ranked seventh.

As the two lowest seeds, Powerade and Barako both need to win twice to advance to the next round.

Both B-Meg and Talk ‘N Text are not taking their opponents lightly.

“We’ll have to be sharp right at the get-go. There’s a very little margin for error,” said B-Meg coach Tim Cone in a report at pba-online.net.

“They beat us the last time plus we’re coming off a tough game while they’re well rested. It wouldn’t have been a problem if we’re complete but is an issue now that we’re decimated,” said Texters coach Chot Reyes.
