LOOK: Alfredo Lim meets with supporters in Tondo

MANILA, Philippines — Manila mayoral candidate Alfredo Lim kicked off his campaign Friday morning by wooing voters in Tondo.
After attending Mass at the Sto. Niño de Tondo Parish Church, Lim went to a small gathering at a fast-food restaurant nearby and talked with his supporters.

Lim is the official candidate of the ruling party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

After meeting his supporters, Lim joined a motorcade that went through Tondo.
The former Manila mayor and senator is running against incumbent Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada and former Manila vice mayor Isko Moreno for the city’s mayoral post.
The campaign period for local candidates in the May midterm elections officially started on Friday. /muf
