Twin quakes jolt Davao Occidental towns

DIGOS CITY — Two earthquakes were monitored in two neighboring towns of Davao Occidental on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (Philvocs) said.

Phivolcs recorded a 4.5-magnitude quake 381 kilometers south and 42 km east of Sarangani with a depth of 78 km at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, while a magnitude 3.6 tremor hit Jose Abad Santos town.

In its earthquake bulletin, Philvocs reported that the quake hit 41 km south and 81 km east of Jose Abad Santos at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday.
The quakes were tectonic in origin and had a depth of 125 km.

No damage was reported.
