Free mass wedding for 65 couples on Valentine’s Day in La Union
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — Sixty-five couples tied the knot in a mass wedding officiated by Mayor Hermenegildo Gualberto at the public plaza here on Thursday.
It was considered a dream wedding for couples who could not afford an expensive wedding ceremony and reception. The wedding ring, Barong Tagalog, wedding gown and bouquet, photographer, videographer, food, cake, and gifts were paid for by the city government.
Gualberto and the city officials were the official wedding sponsors.
The city government transformed the plaza into a beautiful wedding venue and reception adorned with fresh flowers, with a colorful water fountain as a backdrop.
The women were fully made up wearing their white wedding gown while their respective grooms were clad in Barong Tagalog. Several brides were in tears as they exchanged their wedding vows with their partners. A buffet table, draped in yellow and red cloth, was set up for the family and friends of the newlyweds.
