MANILA, Philippines — After weeks of delay, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) started on Saturday the printing of ballots for the May 2019 midterm elections.

The printing was initially set to start Jan. 22, but was moved to Feb. 9 due to a delay of the release of the final list of candidates.

The poll body needs to print at least 65 million of ballots, of which 1.8 million will be for use of overseas voters, for the nationwide election.
