Ex-village chair killed, P3.4M ‘shabu’ seized in Bicol buy-busts
LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested a man who sold an agent some P3.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) on Wednesday night at Legazpi Boulevard in this city.
Christian Frivaldo, acting regional director of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bicol, said Benedict Oliveros, of Barangay (village) San Isidro of Pili town in Camarines Sur province, was arrested at 10:05 p.m.
The authorities seized 500 grams of suspected shabu from Oliveros.
Frivaldo said the suspect was connected with the suppliers in Rinconada area of Camarines Sur.
Also on Wednesday, Roy Lumbao, former village chief of Binanuahan in Pilar, Sorsogon, was shot and killed in a separate buy-bust operation 8:30 p.m.
