AFTER the Mandaue city government rescinded its contract with Jadewell Parking System, more complaints against the towing firm came in.

A taxi driver and a former law professor reported to Mandaue City Police Office that Jadewell personnel forcibly towed his taxi and took his earnings last Dec. 1.

Antonio Estrella, 66, of Ouano Street, barangay Centro, Mandaue City, told police that at around 11 a.m. on Dec. 1, a passenger flagged him at Ybañez compound and asked that he be brought to Plaridel Street in barangay Cambaro.

But he experienced engine trouble so he was forced to park his car near an establishment. A traffic enforcer approached him, asked for his driver’s license and issued a citation ticket.

Estrella asked why they have to tow his taxi but the Jadewell personnel allegedly did not listen and arrogantly told him to disembark from the car.
