‘Usman’ leaves 3 dead in Oriental Mindoro

CITY OF CALAPAN – Three persons died during the onslaught of Tropical Depression “Usman” in Oriental Mindoro, police said.

Eden Rubion, 19, who was earlier reported missing after a flashflood, was found in Barangay Proper in Bansud town at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, said Supt. Imelda Tolentino, spokesperson of the Mimaropa police.

On Monday, the body of Rico Maestro, 59, was retrieved by rescuers in Barangay Tabon-tabon in Baco town at around 3 a.m.

In another search and rescue operation, the lifeless body of Mark Hernandez, 13, was recovered in Barangay Bucayao, Calapan City on Sunday at about 6:45 p.m.

A report from Senior Supt. Thomas Frias, Jr., director of the Oriental Mindoro police, said Hernandez was last seen swimming in the flooded area near their house in the middle of heavy rainfall.
