NDRRMC: Nearly 130,000 persons affected by ‘Usman’
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 30,469 families or 128,982 persons from Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Regions V and VIII were affected by Tropical Depression “Usman,” the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday.
In its latest update, NDRRMC said as of 12 p.m. of New Year’s eve, 3,619 families or 14,144 individuals of the affected residents are staying in 112 evacuation centers.
On top of this, NDRRMC said 68 have died, 19 were reported missing and 12 were reportedly injured.

A total of 204 areas were flooded in Regions V and VIII, but the agency said floods have already subsided in at least 75 areas.
Meanwhile, 428 passengers, two vessels, and three motorbancas were still stranded to date.
Article continues after this advertisementA total of P1,678,995 worth of assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Local Government Units and Non-Government Organizations has been provided to Mimaropa, Regions V and VIII, NDRRMC said.
