Cop shot dead by riding-in-tandem gunmen in Negros Oriental
MANILA, Philippines — A police officer was shot dead by motorcycle riding gunmen in Barangay Poblacion in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental on Wednesday.
A report from the Negros Oriental police said Senior Insp. Porferio Gabuya Jr., was inside the San Vicente Ferrer Enterprises along the national highway in the said city when the suspects opened fire with an M4 rifle at around 10:25 a.m.
Gabuya was Deputy Chief of Police for Operations of the Guihulngan City Police Office.
Police said the suspects, who were wearing ski masks and sunglasses, fled after the shooting onboard the motorcycle.
The victim was rushed to the Guihulngan Hospital but was declared dead on arrival, according to police. /muf
