According to Coronel, witnesses said the assailant has loitered near the hotel for around two hours before the crime, as if waiting for an opportunity to kill Sytin.
Coronel said they have already established a few more leads but cannot disclose it at the moment.
He said investigation also showed that Sytin is a usual guest at the hotel.
“Talaga pong pinagplanuhan at pinaghandaan ang pagpatay sa biktima. Iyon po ang nakita namin na paraan kung paano nangyari ito (The killing of the victim was carefully planned. That’s what we see on how this happened),” he said.
Sytin was the founder and chief executive officer of industrial auction company United Auctioneers Inc. He was also a part owner of the Acea Subic Bay resort.
