UP graduate tops board exam for chemical engineers

A graduate from the University of the Philippines-Diliman emerged as the topnotcher among the 737 out of 1,043 who passed the Chemical Engineer Board Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Wednesday.

Peter Nicholas Onglao obtained a rating of 84.40 percent. Marcel Roy Domalanta from Saint Louis University was ranked second with a rating of 84.30 percent.

Ernest Pahuyo Delmo from the University of the Philippines-Diliman placed third with a rating of 83.20 percent.

The University of the Philippines-Diliman was also named the top performing school with a passing rate of 96.10 percent while the University of the Philippines-Los Baños was at second place with a 92.06 percent passing rate.

The results of the examination were released two working days after the last day of the exam.

It was administered by the PRC Board of Chemical Engineering in testing centers in Manila and Cebu from November 24 to 26, 2018. /ee
