Binay says Trillanes’ amnesty should have been final

Former Vice President Jejomar Binay on Wednesday said the amnesty granted to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV should have been final after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered its revocation.

“Sa akin as a lawyer, final na ‘yung decision na ‘yun,” he said in a forum. “As a lawyer, ang law of the case is tapos na.”

(To me as a lawyer, the decision was already final… As a lawyer, the law of the case has been concluded.)

He also went against the quo warranto pleading that led to the ouster of Maria Lourdes Sereno as Chief Justice.

“‘Tingin ko hindi pwedeng i-quo warranto iyon (I don’t think quo warranto was applicable),” he said. /cbb
