Singson tops bodytone run for life

ADONIS Singson emerged the fastest in the 10-kilometer race of the Bodytone: Run For Life 2011 yesterday at the Body Tone Fitness Club  in Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City.

Singson clocked 29 minutes and 31 seconds to win the P3,000 purse and a medal.

Sherwin Managuil of Mindanao finished in second place with a time of  30 minutes and 30 seconds.

Managuil was among those who complained about a failed staging of another running event last week. But he praised the Sugbo Road Runners Club and Body Tone for a successful race yesterday.

“Hapsay kaayo,”  Managuil said of the race, which attracted around 400 runners.

Riez Enriquez rounded off the top three male runners with a time of 30:40.

Madelyn Carter dominated the distaff side  with a time of 37 minutes and seven seconds followed by 11 year-old running sensation Jean Andrin.  Eliza Lagahit grabbed third place honors./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
