JV Ejercito arrives at Comelec to file COC for senator

Reelectionist Senator JV Ejercito arrived at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Intramuros, Manila to file his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Monday.

The senator first attended a mass at San Agustin Church before going to Comelec.

Ejercito will seek reelection as senator under the Nationalist People’ Coalition (NPC) after leaving Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), the political party of his father, former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

Ejercito’s half-brother, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, is also eyeing a Senate seat in the May 2019 midterm elections. /je
