Siquijor municipal councilor shot dead

CEBU CITY — A Siquijor municipal councilor was shot dead by still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen on Thursday afternoon.

Lazi Municipal Councilor Dominggo Arcamo, 50, was waiting for his wife, Dorie inside their pickup truck in Barangay Poblacion, Lazi when the gunmen appeared and shot him.

Police said Arcamo sustained two gunshot wounds in the left chest. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Investigator PO3 Cary Grant Grencio said the victim drove his Nissan Navara pickup truck to the public market in Barangay Poblacion because his wife wanted to send money to a friend through a remittance center. /muf
