Laguna drug suspect killed in buy-bust op
SAN PEDRO CITY — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Cabuyao City in Laguna province early Wednesday.
The suspect was identified as Rodrigo Rio. According to police, Rio was already previously arrested for theft and was later included in the police watchlist for illegal drugs.
A report from the regional police headquarters said Rio sold a sachet of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover policeman around 2 a.m. in Barangay (village) Pulo.

After doing so, the suspect allegedly drew out a gun and engaged the law enforcers in a gunfight, prompting the policemen to shoot him back.
The police recovered a .38 caliber gun and eight more sachets of alleged shabu from the slain suspect. /je
