The last time he talked with reporters last week, Roque said he would decide during the weekend whether to accept a “nonexistent” position that President Rodrigo Duterte had offered him instead of allowing him to run for the Senate in next year’s midterm elections.

The President reportedly had told Roque that he could not win and offered him a job as head of the proposed Office of the Press Secretary.
