Sotto: Nothing to worry about President’s health

Senate President Vicente Sotto III said on Saturday that there was nothing to worry about the health of President Rodrigo Duterte, saying having a “growth” is normal for someone aged 60 and up and that hospital could correct that.
In any case, the government could rely on an “order of succession,” Sotto said in an interview with AM radio DWIZ
“Tapos ang health packages ng mga ospital ngayon ang gagaling. Kahit anong sakit na makita mo, may remedyo sila,” he added.
[And hospitals nowadays have very good health packages. Whatever illness you have, they have a remedy.]
Duterte admitted on Wednesday during his speech before the military in Malacañang that he had gone through an hourlong medical checkup at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan.
“Three weeks ago I had my endoscopy and colonoscopy,” he said.
“I don’t know where I’m now physically, but I have to wait for that [test results]. But I will tell you. If it’s cancer, it’s cancer. If it’s third stage, no more treatment. I will not prolong the agony [of being] in this office or anywhere [else].”

Two days after the President’s checkup, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque revealed tests showed a possible “growth” in the chief executive’s digestive tract.

“Humanap ka na above 60 years old na sasabihin sa’yo na walang nakita. Hindi maaaring hindi meron. Lagi iyon eh. Kaya nga maganda na laging nagpapa-checkup,” Sotto said.
