SWS: 84% of Filipinos prefer democracy
Four of five Filipinos remained satisfied with how democracy works in the country, according to results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
Of 1,500 adult Filipinos, 84 percent said they were satisfied with the way democracy works, 6 points up from 78 percent when the same poll was done in March.
The SWS poll also found 59 percent saying “democracy is always preferable to any kind of government,” compared to 20 percent who said an authoritarian government was preferable to a democratic one. —INQUIRER RESEARCH
