2018 bar examinees record high since 2000

A total of 8,752 aspiring lawyers are set to take the 2018 Bar examinations, records at the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) showed.

The number is 1, 525 higher than the examinees who were approved to take the exam last year at 7,227.

Considered as one of the most difficult licensure examination, the  exam will be held on four consecutive Sundays next month — November 4, 11, 18 and 25 — at the University of Santo Tomas.

The Bar Examination Committee is chaired by Supreme Court Associate Justice Mariano Del Castillo.

The OBC has started to issue the bar examination permits this week from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for those whose names have been posted as “unconditionally approved by the Court” to take the exam.

Those who will be getting their permits are required to bring their acknowledgment receipt, plus two identification cards. Personal appearance is required.

The number of examinees this year is the highest since 2000. Here is the number of examinees per year based on the records of OBC:
