Moderate to heavy rainfall over parts of Mindanao – Pagasa

Moderate to heavy rainfall may be experienced in Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 4:45 p.m. advisory on Tuesday.

The weather bureau said affected by the moderate to heavy rainfall for the next 30 minutes to one hour are Cagayan de Oro, Opol, in Misamis Oriental; Basilan; Zamboanga; and Tangtangan in South Cotabato.

Other affected areas are Datu Odin Sinsuat, Upi, South Upi, Datu Blah T. Sinsuat in Maguindanao; Columbio in Sultan Kudarat; Misamis Occidental; Zamboanga del Sur; Zamboanga del Norte; Lala, Kapatagan, Nunungan in Lanao del Norte; and Lala, Kapatagan, Nunungan in Lanao del Sur.

According to Pagasa, rainfall in these areas may persist for one to two hours.

Pagasa also advised citizens to take safety measures as flash floods and landslides may be expected after the heavy rain. /muf
