Palace welcomes court decision to issue arrest warrant vs Trillanes
Malacañang on Tuesday welcomed the decision of the Makati Regional Trial Court to issue an arrest warrant against opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque also asked the embattled senator to “stop the drama by presscon and allow the legal process to take its course.”
“The court has spoken. As the President has said, we will respect the decision of the judiciary,” Roque said in a statement.
“Whatever Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has to say can be addressed to the court,” Roque added.
Makati City RTC Branch 150 on Tuesday ordered the arrest of Trillanes, one of the administration’s staunchest critics, for his role in the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.
