The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect a large portion the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its weather forecast on Saturday.

According to Pagasa, cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga due to the ITCZ.

The state weather bureau advised residents in the affected areas to prepare for possible flooding and landslides due to the inclement weather.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain but due to localized thunderstorms.  /muf
