Senator Antono Trillanes IV said his decision where to sleep at night should not be the problem of Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

Trillanes made the remark on Thursday, a day after Dela Rosa advised him not to be afraid to go out of the Senate building, saying he would not be apprehended since there is no warrant of arrest against the senator.

“Huwag akong gaanong problemahin ni Genera Dela Rosa at hindi ko naman sya pinoproblema din,” he told reporters.

“Kung saan ako matutulog sa gabi is not his concern or anybody’s concern,” he added.

Trillanes then assured the public that his continued stay in the Senate would bear no additional expenses for the chamber.

“If I choose to sleep here, pinapatay naman ‘yung aircon sa amin ‘pag gabi kaya ‘yung mga nagrereklamo na sayang daw ‘yung kuryente eh hindi po nadagdagan ang bill ng kuryente ng Senado,” he said.

The senator has been holed up in the Senate since last week, wary that he would be arrested after his amnesty had been revoked by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Kung makinig lang sya sa akin, advise-an ko siya na kung pwede huwag matakot. Umuwi ka kung gusto mong umuwi,” Dela Rosa told reporters at the Senate.

“Wala namang huhuli sa kanya. Wala namang warrant of arrest, sinabi ng Presidente,” the former Philippine National Police chief also said.  /kga
