‘Habagat’ to be enhanced by LPA, to bring rain over Ilocos – Pagasa
A low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by the state weather bureau will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
As of 3 a.m. on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last spotted at 75 kilometers southeast of Basco, Batanes.
The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorm over the Ilocos Region, CAR, and the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Zambales, and Bataan, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Mimaropa and Calabarzon regions, will also have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.
Pagasa has advised residents in the affected areas to be ready for possible flashfloods and landslides.
The rest of the country meanwhile will have isolated rain and thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said. /muf
