3 cops hurt in vehicular accident in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Three policemen from the Manila Police District were injured after their mobile car was hit by another car at Padre Burgos Street near the Bonifacio Shrine in Intramuros, Manila early Wednesday morning.

The report identified the policemen as Police Officer 1 Arnell Espena, PO2 Jeffrey Laos at PO2 Conrado Morales.

The three were aboard Mobile Patrol 35 driven by Espena and crossing Padre Burgos St from Intramuros when they were hit by a black Hyundai Elantra with license number WHF 256 driven by a Richard Laneda.

PO3 Romel del Rosario of the Manila Traffic Bureau said the driver of the Hyundai Elantra was apparently trying to break the red light when it slammed into the police mobile car.
