Pasig cops bust teen escapee
A 17-year-old boy, said to be a member of a drug gang whose leader was recently caught by the police, was arrested on Wednesday night for selling marijuana to an undercover agent in Pasig City.
In June, the same teenager was placed in the custody of city social workers after he was caught stealing at the public market. But he was able to escape from Bahay Aruga, a facility for children in conflict with the law.
A tip sent via the Eastern Police District’s Facebook page prompted authorities to set a buy-bust operation against the minor on Eusebio Avenue, Barangay San Miguel.
EPD director Senior Supt Bernabe Balba said the suspect was part of a gang whose leader, Anselle Rivera, was arrested on Sunday. The boy had reportedly posed in a Facebook photo showing him smoking marijuana with other minors. —JHESSET O. ENANO
