Quezon cops arrest 5; seize guns, shabu in anti-crime ops
LUCENA CITY – Five persons were arrested while undocumented firearms and illegal drugs were seized during separate anti-crime operations in Quezon province, police said Tuesday.
Quezon police director Sr. Supt. Osmundo de Guzman said anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested Jerry Panganiban in a buy-bust operation in Tiaong town in Barangay Talisay around 10:45 p.m. Monday.
Aside from P2,000 worth of shabu, the suspect also yielded a 22 cal. submachine gun with a magazine and several ammunitions, police said.
According to police, drug syndicates were supplying guns to some of their pushers for protection aside from giving them free shabu for personal use as incentives.
Authorities also arrested alleged illegal drug peddlers Ronald Allan Hernandez and Rodolfo Atienza in another operation also in the same village an hour later.
Police seized less than a gram of shabu from the two suspects.

In Lucena City, police collared suspected drug pusher Alvaro Aguallo in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Gulang-Gulang around 8:30 p.m. Monday
Aguallo yielded P1,000 worth of shabu packed in six plastic sachets. /kga
