2 bullet-riddled bodies dumped on Compostela Valley road
DAVAO CITY — Two bodies were found dumped on a roadside in Maco town, Compostela Valley province on Wednesday, a day after a newly elected village councilor was killed on the same road.
Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz, Southern Mindanao police spokesperson, said police were still investigating whether the recent killing was tied to the shooting of the newly elected village councilor a day earlier.
The bodies, still unidentified, bore bullet wounds on their heads and were clad in black sweatshirt when found along the Tagum-Mati road in Barangay Anislagan around 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Recovered near the bodies were P3,000 worth of bills, two cellphone batteries, one cellphone charger and a live round from a cal. 45 bullet.
Driz said police were still looking into possible motives of the killing.
On Tuesday, contractor Omar Macusang was killed in an ambush minutes after he was sworn in as among the new village councilors in Pangi, Maco.
