Victory Liner took to its official Facebook page, “Victory Liner, Inc.” today, June 19, to issue a warning to the riding public. The post was made after the Facebook page of a bogus bus company posing as “Victory Liner Incorporated” swindled commuters by making them pay for their tickets through offline methods.

Victory Liner’s statement read: “To the riding public: There is a fake/imposter FB page posing as VICTORY LINER. It sells tickets and extorts money from its victims. It asks passengers to pay for their tickets via SMART PADALA and tells passengers to claim their tickets at the terminal. It also uses foul language in its transactions.”

The public warning issued by the bus company included screenshots that show the Facebook page of the fake bus company “Victory Liner Incorporated.” Some screenshots also showed messages that exposed unprofessional language and profanities by the poser account in its transactions with customers.

In its official website, Victory Liner has a warning tag stating they do not accept Smart Padala payments, contrary to what the bogus bus company had asked of its customers.

“Warning: We do not accept Smart Padala nor any other offline methods of payment for tickets bought online,” the warning said.

Based on its Facebook posts, the fake Victory Liner page has been operating since September 2015. The page also has pictures of Victory Liner buses and the buses’ interiors, for a supposedly believable appearance. A quick view of the page’s reviews show numerous one-star ratings and complaints from disgruntled customers.

Meanwhile, Victory Liner, Inc. is one of the largest bus companies operating in the Philippines, servicing Northern Luzon since 1945. JB
