Forces at work to vilify Ninoy, Cory, claims Bam

Sinister forces are at work to vilify the memory of the late Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and the late President Corazon Aquino, according to their nephew, Sen. Bam Aquino.

He said someone he described as the “mastermind” of Assistant Communications Secretary Mocha Uson was behind the smear campaign.

Uson last week posted a video comparing President Duterte’s kiss with a Filipino migrant in South Korea to the kisses given by a woman to Ninoy moments before he was shot dead in 1983.

“There’s a move to change history, to malign the legacy of Tito Ninoy and Tita Cory,” Bam said in an interview on ANC. “It shows a lack of context, a lack of appreciation of our history, a lack of appreciation of people who have died for our country,” he said.

“More people are starting to realize that the strategies of the mastermind of Asec Mocha Uson may have worked in the past, but I don’t think it’s working anymore,” he said. —DJ Yap
