National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar relieved a Pasay police official on Monday after “suspiciously” abandoning a police station during a surprise inspection.
In an interview over Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Eleazar said it appears that Chief Insp. Alan Estrada, head of Police Community Precinct 1 in Pasay City, locked his office and fled after finding out that the NCRPO director was inspecting the station.
Eleazar said this was an “unusual” incident.
“Naka-lock from the inside (‘yung kwarto) kinakatok natin pero walang sumasagot, only to find out na meron pa lang back door and when we checked itong back door na talagang patago, dun kami pumasok malamig pa run, nakita namin yung mga baril, isang mahabang baril, dalawang maikli, wallet, yung shorts naiwan, so medyo unusual ‘yung sitwasyon na ‘yun,” the NCRPO chief narrated.
“Pinatawagan agad natin, sabi ng deputy nakausap daw nya earlier at sinabi nandun ako pero ngayon hindi na ma-contact. Pero bakit ganoon, nag-off pa sya ng cellphone, there’s something unusual about that…” he continued.
Eleazar then reminded policemen that he would continue conducting surprise inspections especially at night to ensure they are not neglecting their duties.
“Hindi naman kailangan na sila ay gising pagdating dun… ang nire-require lang naman na gising ay ‘yung on-duty,” he also said. /kga
