‘Domeng’ intensifies as it moves out of PH

Tropical Storm “Domeng” continues to intensify as it moves north-east of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its latest weather bulletin on Saturday.

According to Pagasa, Domeng  now has maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

Pagasa also advised those travelling by sea to take extra caution for possible risks particularly over the eastern seaboard of Northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Southern Luzon and Central Luzon.

The weather agency said sea condition in the said seaboards would be rough to very rough with wave heights of between 2.8 to 4.5 meters.

“Fishing boats and other small sea craft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” Pagasa warns.

Despite this, the state weather bureau said Domeng is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Sunday morning.

Domeng was spotted at 565 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes at 10:00 a.m.    /muf
