Public dialogues on draft federal constitution will start June 17
President Rodrigo Duterte’s charter change committee is set to present the draft federal constitution to Filipinos across the country.
Ding Generoso, spokesman of Duterte’s Consultative Committee (Con-com), announced that they will hold public consultations in various cities starting June 17.
“All feedback from the consultations would be submitted (to President Duterte),” Generoso told reporters in a briefing on Thursday at the Philippine International Convention Center.
The initial schedule of the regional presentations and consultations are as follows:
June 17 to 19

- Legaspi City
June 25 to 27
- Baguio City
Tacloban City
However, Generoso clarified that this is only an initial list, explaining that these cities are not the only places where consultations will be held.
More presentations and consultations will be held in July, he said.
“(These five cities) will only be the first cities. It appears that these cities are the ones ready to start right away,” the Con-com official said.
“That’s because there were organizations, local officials (in these cities) who were ready, who were waiting for a date, so we agreed to just start there,” he explained.
The Con-com will partner with the Presidential Management Staff-Office of Regional Concerns, Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Presidential Communications Operations Office in holding the consultations.
“By August 19, we will collate all the results of the consultations—how many people participated, what happened, what were the feedback. Then we will send the results,” Generoso said. /vvp
