A northbound train of the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) suffered a service interruption during the afternoon rush hour on Monday because of “worn out electrical sub-components.”

Aly Narvaez, MRT-3 media relations officer, said one of the trains of MRT-3 experienced an “electrical failure” at Araneta Center-Cubao station at 4:30 p.m.

She said the train unloaded 850 passengers due to the glitch caused by worn out electrical parts.

Despite this, the passengers managed to ride a different train that arrived six minutes after the incident. /vvp
