Firms looking to fill nearly 30K vacancies on June 12 at Rizal Park

Nearly 30,000 jobs both here and abroad will be up for grabs at Rizal Park in Manila on June 12, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole).

Rizal Park is just one of the 19 venues for the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) job and business fair, which was organized to mark the 120th anniversary of Philippine independence.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the nationwide job and business fair was aimed at bringing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to the grassroots level.

The Dole National Capital Region reported that 73 participating employers (45 local, 20 overseas and eight government agencies) will be offering 29,751 jobs at Rizal Park.

Most of the local jobs that will be available are in the construction, transportation and sales sectors.

In the construction industry, many of the vacancies are for CIP installers, welders, masons/finishing masons, carpenters, leadmen, scaffolders, painters, steelmen, tinsmiths and tilesetters.

There are also vacancies for drivers, mechanics, bus conductors, customer service consultants, pharmacy assistants, financial consultants, merchandisers and sales/service cashiers.

Also looking for additional personnel are several government agencies, including the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Trade and Industry, Armed Forces of the Philippines and National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

For those seeking work overseas, the top vacancies are for the positions of service/hotel workers, general laborers/technicians, forecourt attendants (petron fillers), butchers (supermarket), hospital workers, nurses, engineers, labor workers, sales personnel and carpenters.
