Some 250 passengers were asked to disembark a train of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), which experienced a mechanical problem on Friday morning.
In a statement posted on its Twitter account, the MRT-3 management said the affected train encountered an issue on its Automatic Train Protection (ATP) signaling and was forced to unload the passengers on the southbound platform of Kamuning station.
The passengers were loaded to the next train, which arrived around four minutes after the incident, the MRT-3 management added.
“One cause of ATP (Signaling) Error is worn-out ATP/Signaling sub-components,” it explained.
“Remedial measures” (are) preventive maintenance and replacement of ATP/Signaling components,” it added. /kga
