Gunman kills piggery caretaker in Sariaya, Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A piggery caretaker was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman in Sariaya town in Quezon province on Sunday night, police reported.

Supt. Rafael Torres, Sariaya police chief, said Romeo Yansa was found dead with a bullet wound to his head at the piggery farm owned by Marion Luis Contreras in Barangay Bucal at 7:55 p.m. The victim died on the spot.

Quoting witnesses, the police said the victim was last seen feeding pigs 10 minutes before he was found dead.

Except for the body of the victim, no other pieces of evidence were found at the crime scene, the report said.

Torres said a crack team of investigators has been dispatched to identify and arrest the killer.  /vvp
