MANILA, Philippines—The scheduled hearing on Wednesday of the Dacer-Corbito murder trial was reset for Dec. 14 after it was learned that the Supreme Court had upheld a Court of Appeals ruling declaring Cezar Mancao an “incredible and untrustworthy” witness.

Prosecutor Phillip Kimpo said Manila Judge Thelma Bunyi Medina received on Tuesday the decision of the high court junking the motion for reconsideration of the family of murdered publicist Salvador ‘‘Bubby” Dacer seeking to overturn a Court of Appeals decision to dismiss charges against Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson because Mancao’s testimony was based on hearsay.

Mancao, a former police officer who had implicated then PNP chief Lacson, was declared by the appeals court to be an incredible witness.

Kimpo said Judge Medina will have no choice but to act in accordance with the decision.
