Child found dead in Laguna dam

SAN PEDRO CITY – The body of a still unidentified child was found floating in a water dam in Calamba City in Laguna province on Sunday morning.

A report from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon police headquarters said the body was discovered by a resident around 7 a.m. in Barangay (village) Real. Investigators believed it was of a male child between the ages of 5 to 8 years old.

Based on the initial investigation, police believed the child had drowned, although the report said it was completely naked and the body has started to decompose.

Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, the regional police chief, said the city police have begun looking at its list of missing persons and for families who may have lost a child. /je
