Duterte’s PSG head gets new post
Brig. Gen. Lope Dagoy, the commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), assumed his new post on Thursday.
Dagoy was installed as brigade commander of the 802nd Brigade based in Leyte, replacing Brig. Gen. Francisco Mendoza Jr.
Maj. Gen. Raul Farnacio, commander of the 8th Infantry Division, presided over the change of command ceremony.
Dagoy, a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Hinirang” Class of 1987, led the PSG since March 2017 before taking over his new post.
Sources say Col. Jose Eriel Niembra, who once served under Task Force Davao and the PSG, is likely to replace Dagoy as the next head of the PSG. /muf
