P5.4M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Lipa and Legazpi
Police and antinarcotics operatives seized P5.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate operations in Batangas and Albay provinces on Monday.
In Batangas, police arrested Marcial Orbigoso, said to be one of the top drug suppliers in Makati City, while they were serving a search warrant for illegal firearms at Barangay Pangao in Lipa City.
Seized from Orbigoso were 14 plastic bags, containing 300 grams of suspected shabu worth P2 million, and a .45-caliber gun.
In Albay, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated 500 grams of shabu, worth P3.4 million, from Myla Panuncio after a drug bust at Barangay Puro in Legazpi City.
The PDEA said Panuncio, a resident of Pasay City, was operating in different areas in the Bicol region. —Reports from Maricar Cinco and Mar S. Arguelles
