One of the 10 remaining captives of the Abu Sayyaf Group in Sulu has been released on Monday, the military said.
Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana told reporters that the kidnap victim was released around 8 a.m. in Jolo, Sulu.
The former captive was brought to the Joint Task Force Sulu for medical examination and custodial debriefing.
No other immediate details were given but a radio report said that the freed captive was a male local from Sulu.
The Abu Sayyaf has nine remaining captives — one Dutch national, three Indonesians, one Vietnamese and four Filipinos. /je
