Lightning kills fish feeder in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — A bangus (milkfish) feeder was killed by lightning on Sunday (May 20) at Sual town in Pangasinan province.

Jonaly Damalen, 25, was feeding bangus stocks in fish cages at the Baquioen Bay at about 5 p.m. when he was struck by a bolt of lightning, police said. Sual and parts of Pangasinan experienced rains and thunderstorms that day.

Damalen did not make it alive to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital in Alaminos City, where rescuers took him.   /kga
