The number of patients that the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has assisted during the village and youth elections on Monday has reached over 6,000.
In its 6 p.m. update, the PRC said that it attended to a total of 6,006 patients nationwide. The agency has given blood monitoring services to around 5,210 individuals.
Eight persons were also transported to hospitals due to body weakness, fainting, laceration, and seizure while 24 voters have obtained medical assistance for hypertension, laceration, dizziness, and abrasion.
The PRC also said that it has given psychosocial support to 764 individuals across the country.
The PRC and the Department of Health (DOH) were on high alert the whole day for medical emergencies that may take place in polling precincts nationwide.
As of 2 p.m. the PRC has already provided assistance to 2,364 patients nationwide.
Of this number, 2,156 have sought assistance for blood pressure monitoring while eight people have requested medication for ailments such as hypertension, laceration, dizziness, and abrasion. /ee
