50 suffer from high blood pressure during barangay elections in QC

/ 02:31 PM May 14, 2018

Due to sweltering summer heat, about 50 people suffered high blood pressure during barangay elections on Monday at the Commonwealth Elementary School, Radyo Inquirer reported.

Citing information from Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction, the report said that voters aged between 30 and 60 sought for medical attention.

The heat and the long queues due to failure of finding their names on the voters’ list caused their blood pressure to rise.

One female, identified as Jonelyn Halago, 31, passed out after enduring long lines to cast her vote. She was immediately brought to the hospital. /je
